What the hell is audacity? That’s what I said, when I first heard about it in my animation class. Audacity is a FREE audio tool giving you the capability to alter and record your voice. I used it for the first time last week and it’s great. I was a bit confused by the layout, so I watched a youtube video on 'How to use Audacity’. Then, I was able to record my voice and change the pitch and speed. I’m too embarrassed; otherwise I would post the recording.
I've had Audacity for the past 4 years which is a pretty cool program. I use it for fun and also incase I need to 1) change the pitch of certain songs (if say, they aren't correct and I need to either increase or decrease it to the right pitch) 2) change the amplitude of the song in decibels (if I want all the songs of an album to be at the same exact decibel level because it drives me nuts when some songs are low while others are louder) 3) merge two tracks into one (if say there's two songs that are segued together but are broken into 2 or 3 tracks), etc. I'll also use Audacity incase I need to edit something out that in a voiceclip that I recorded for someone which is a breeze. I've changed the pitch and speed of my voice several times before and it was really funny to hear.
